Teacher Professional Development offers a variety of professional development and support activities designed for teachers with 0-3 years of experience. Participants may choose from either day-long sessions or after-school sessions, which are described below. Participants should register for these opportunities on MyTalent.

New Teacher Topics (NTT)

We hope you will join us monthly at Spaugh PDC (1901 Herbert Spaugh Lane, Charlotte, 28208) to discuss topics of interest to educators in their first three years of teaching. Session topics will incorporate teacher suggestions, content curriculum, and pedagogy sessions from district experts! You may register for these monthly courses in MyTalent. Monthly topics will be determined by your requests as well as hot topics in the district. After registering for the courses in MyTalent, you will receive periodic invitations to suggest topics for our monthly sessions. You will then receive an updated list of planned sessions for that month.

The majority of the monthly sessions will be day-long, 8:30-3:30. The October session will be an afternoon session, 3:00-6:00. For the October course, we realize that some of you will need to arrive late or leave early, but we hope you will attend as many breakout sessions as you can. Breakout sessions will begin periodically throughout the 3:00-6:00 time frame to accommodate educators from schools with various staff-release times.

NTT Dates: Substitute funding is available for the day-long sessions. See MyTalent for substitute funding instructions.
